One of my favorite things about having my recently-turned 19-year old daughter, Emily, NOT engage me online, is the freedom it gives me to write about her without her knowledge.

Emily is brilliant and when she abandons her "Oh-Mom!"-rolling-eyes-teenager attitude, she's quite funny.

Emily was thrilled when she turned 19-years old.  That's the legal drinking age in Ontario.  She's not much of a drinker. [Emily's several medications due to heart defects and surgeries aren't alcohol compliant, as are all Rx I know of].  The symbolic legal permission was important to Emily.

Emily is an adult now.  Watching her grow into this amazing woman was an honor.

So many milestones we shared are now fond memories.  One of those memories was Disney.

Since Emily was 4-years old, we've taken her to Disney World at least once a year.  When Emily turned 6-years old, we had a son, Evan.  He equally loved visiting Disney World.

Nearly three years ago, Emily's heart was failing [again].  I got that news on a Tuesday, cried all day Wednesday, booked a Disney trip Thursday and escaped to Florida on Saturday.

I booked Emily's dream resort, Disney's Yacht and Beach Club.  It was my favorite resort too.  I loved the short 5-minute walk to Epcot every evening to watch Illuminations and afternoon boat rides to Disney's Hollywood Studios to ride Tower of Terror with my son.  It was a dream Disney vacation.

Still having 3-day hopper tickets that do not expire, I started booking our next Disney vacation in 2011.  I was surprised and sad to learn that neither Emily nor Evan wanted to return to Disney World.  Evan, now 13-years old, moved on to more thrilling parks, like Canada's Wonderland, Universal Studios and Six Flags.  Emily informed me that she knew our 2010 Disney vacation was her last, saying she outgrew Disney.  While everyone was being honest, my husband admitted he's not the biggest Disney fan either.

A little [okay, A LOT] disappointed, I dropped the Disney vacation idea, being grateful for all the incredible times and vacations we enjoyed as a family together in the Happiest Place on Earth!

Since our last 2010 dream Disney trip, Evan's been on the world's tallest roller coaster, Kingda Ka, at Six Flags and Emily's enjoys her independence from her parents.

Today, however, I got the shock of a life time!

During a conversation with Evan, he mentioned that he'd like to return to Disney World in a year or two, when he has time miss it.  Emily came into the chat and mentioned that since Magic Kingdom now serves wine, she'd like to return and enjoy a glass there, when she turns 21.  [Did she not pay ANY attention to her mother's nightly red wine enjoyment from France at Epcot in 2010?]

So there it is.  My kids are considering returning to Disney World as a family once more.  Knowing this IS our final Disney vacation as a foursome is fine.  I look forward to planning, prepping and having a glass of wine with my adult daughter in the Magic Kingdom.
